4 crash scenarios
The safety of operators and passengers on Gama electric locomotives is ensured by the special design of the driver’s cab and features designed to minimise the consequences of any collision. The reinforced cab cage, which is made of the highest-quality steel, guarantees the driver’s safety. During a collision, the collision force is first absorbed by the coupling and the key role is played by energy absorbers which, in addition to absorbing the energy, also prevent the vehicles from climbing on top of each other. In the second phase, the crash energy is absorbed by the so-called honey comb – a block of specially shaped aluminium elements. A scraper mounted underneath the cabin prevents any elements from getting under the wheels of the vehicle. Pesa vehicles comply with the EN 15227 standard in four collision scenarios – collision with a vehicle of the same weight, a freight wagon, a truck and a passenger vehicle.
Driving comfort
The electric range is a locomotive that is environmentally friendly and minimises maintenance costs. The locomotive can be used for both goods trains up to 140km/h and passenger trains up to 160km/h. Welfare facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge, kettle.
