A low-floor tram

The newest tram produced by PESA Bydgoszcz is not a continuation of Swing or Jazz nor their competitor either. It’s a crucial addition to our offer. Twist’s bogie construction allows for longer use of rolling stock and for greater savings as a result. Twist is also incredibly safe – the diagnostics happens online, and thanks to the classification of events the machinist can decide on a best solution on his own.

A safe tram

Twis fulfills the collision resistance norm EN 15227 – one with a vehicle of the same mass, the second one with a cargo car, third one with a truck and the final one with an automobile. Safety of the crew is provided by specially designed zones of controlled pinch points. The same zones also help to avoid damage and deformation of the vehicle in case of a collision.

A low floor makes this tram more comfortable and makes travel a more comfortable experience for people with reduced mobility. There’s a ramp located in the tram that allows for an effortless enter for people on wheelchairs as well as for parents with baby carriages, this solution also improves passenger exchange on stops. Thanks to the efficiency of tram’s drive PESA produced vehicle achieve an optimal acceleration for the comfort of travel, used steering mechanisms allow for shortening of the braking distance.
