DOUBLE-DECKER ROLLING STOCKS

PesaSUNDECK Push-Pull Doubledeck drafts are the first railway vehicles of this type manufactured by a Polish manufacturer. They are mainly designed for servicing of local agglomerations with large streams of passengers. In its basic configuration, the PesaSUNDECK consists of the Gama electric locomotive, a control unit and up to 6 intersectional, double-deck cars. The draft can be used simultaneously by approx. 1700 passengers.

The vehicles are adapted for driving with an operating speed of up to 160 km/h. Both car types stand out with their modern design, a friendly and spacious interior equipped, among others, with comfortable seats, air-conditioning, wireless Internet, modern passenger information system and monitoring ensuring the safety of travellers. They are designed as double-deck, non-compartment, second class cars. The control units include zones for persons with reduced mobility (compliant with the TSI PRM requirements) with a gastronomic section, toilets and entry ways equipped with platforms allowing entry for people in wheelchairs.

The first contract concluded by PESA Bydgoszcz SA for the deliveries of Push-Pull vehicles is the order of the company named “Koleje Mazowieckie – KM” sp. z o.o. for electric locomotives, control units and intersectional cars. PESA Bydgoszcz SA also designs double-deck electric multiple units designed for servicing of regional and agglomeration traffic as well as Intercity class trains for various European carriers, both for the 1425mm and 1520mm tracks. These vehicles are adapted for driving with an operating speed from 160 km/h to 200 km/h. They can be singlevoltage or multi-voltage vehicles. The designed family of vehicles allows configuring the drafts from 3 to 8 cars with a capacity of 300-900 passengers on seats. The units are adapted to service platforms with a height of 380mm, through 550mm, 760mm to 1000mm. The vehicles are compliant with the requirements of the mandatory TSI European standards.

As most vehicles constructed today, the units are made as modular, allowing much freedom in designing the interior, depending on the requirements of the recipient.
